The three are suspected of removing items from his dorm room after the April 15 attack. The two Kazacks were detained April 20 on immigration charges and a third has now been taken into custody, sources said. They are expected to face obstruction of justice charges.
Alan Dershowitz, a prominent defense attorney and Harvard law professor, said the new charges don’t appear to be related to the bombing itself.

Two suspects are Kazachs. They will be charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice. The third is an American, accused of making false statements.
The three people in custody are connected to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. They allegedly helped him after the bombing. Two are Kazachs.
"Additional details will be provided when they become available", police said in a statement. No news conference was scheduled.

The three suspects are said to be college students, according to the Boston Globe. One source told the newspaper that they were connected to the younger Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev at UMass Dartmouth.
One report from NBC suggests they may have been because they "helped take things out of Tsarnaev's dorm room after the bombings."
CBS Boston reports that the suspects were arrested for "harboring or aiding the suspects after the fact" and that they are in the custody of the FBI.
In an additional statement the Boston PD added that, "please be advised that there is not threat to public safety."
