This is how we end up in unwinnable wars in which our well trained soldiers are employed as nannies, construction workers and police men with one hand tied behind their backs, so as to make it more "fair" to the enemy. It's nuts!
Since no one has as yet questioned the ethics of it, we will probably keep on doing it for a while.
