US Launched New Airstrikes On Khorasan Group

According to the US Director of the National Counterterrorism, very dangerous veteran al Qaeda fighters have been posted in Syria to recruit US and European passport holders for an attack on the West. Turns out the group's existence is entirely artificial and serves multiple purposes.

Reporters Visit Ruins Of Khorasan HQ in Syria

Ever since they were targeted by American airstrikes in Syria, the whole world is talking about, what the Americans have called, the Khorasan group. Jenan Moussa now has gotten exclusive images and documents on this.  According to the document they were members of the “Wolf Unit, Jabhat al Nusra”, led by Abu Yusuf al Turki, a sniper who was killed in the American airstrikes.
The bombing of the so called Khorasan-group in Syria is a mystery to the world. The only thing we know is the location and that at least two main al Qaeda operatives, top sniper Abu Yousef Al Turki and Abu Hajar Al Masri, were killed. But now Al Aan TV has received exclusive access to the bombed out headquarters of Khorasan group in Reef Al Muhandeseen Aleppo. For the first time, it was possible to check the bombed out buildings. and make pictures between the rubble. The first image is an overview of the place hit by American planes. As you can see, it is fully destroyed. Then we zoom in. Here, you can see, a military uniform lying between the rubble. A fully destroyed vehicle. Al Qaeda was blow-back; we didn't "create it". 

Caviat! The name Khorasan has been made up by Obama's security services, but that doesn't mean it does not exist! It's just that this construct is not a group, apart from the main body of Al Qaida. Please read McCarthy's article below, very carefully. And while we're at it, this is perhaps a good time to set the record straight on another Al Qaeda meme: arming and training an opposition group that is resisting a vile oppressor was a very good idea. In 1980. Now we know that the average Muslim does not seek liberty, but merely wishes to replace one tyranny with another. But to say that "we created Al Qaeda" is a misrepresentation. You can say, it was the result of the wrong policy decisions, but it certainly wasn't a conscious decision. Criticizing this policy with hindsight is very easy. Read also.


Khorasan Is Al Qaeda in Syria

Turns out, the shady 'group' dubbed Khorasan is multi-purpose. Andrew McCarthy wrote an excellent analysis on NRO (source) of which Thomas Lifson gives us the gist here. It is worth reading every letter! It is also the first time someone formulates precisely how the governing Left see Islamic terrorism. Oh, and claims by the Kuwait New Agency (KUNA) of “at least 400 militants” killed in the first night of the attacks are wildly exaggerated and suggest deliberate misinformation, perhaps by the militants or by the compilers of the count, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said. A better number for the IS strikes on the first night, September 22-23, is fewer than 100, with another 150 wounded. A majority of the casualties occurred because the militants were caught by surprise. The early targets of the strikes were training camps, weapons depots and sleeping quarters. (Source)

Khorasan Group a made-up name for Al Qaeda in Syria. So says Andrew McCarthy, a formidable expert on jihad groups, having served as lead federal prosecutor of the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center. “We’re being had. Again,” he warns in National Review Online, today’s must-read article.
(Source) There are two principal fictions being peddled by the Obama administration that required the invention of a new name.
  • The first, and biggest, lie is that Koranic jihad is not the enemy we face.
  • The second is that Al Qaeda was decimated when Obama brought about the killing of Osama bin Laden, so that any threats we face now are from “different” groups.
  • (In a previous comment we mentioned a third reason: to make the case for an imminent threat against the West required by the UN Charter to justify the war on Islamic State: editor.)
Some key points of McCarthy follow, but this is one piece you should read in its entirety:
The “Khorosan Group” is al-Qaeda. It is simply a faction within the global terror network’s Syrian franchise, “Jabhat al-Nusra.” Its leader, Mushin al-Fadhli (believed to have been killed in this week’s U.S.-led air strikes), was an intimate of Ayman al-Zawahiri, the emir of al-Qaeda who dispatched him to the jihad in Syria. Except that if you listen to administration officials long enough, you come away thinking that Zawahiri is not really al-Qaeda, either. Instead, he’s something the administration is at pains to call “core al-Qaeda.” “Core al-Qaeda,” you are to understand, is different from “Jabhat al-Nusra,” which in turn is distinct from “al-Qaeda in Iraq” (formerly “al-Qaeda in Mesopotamia,” now the “Islamic State” al-Qaeda spin-off that is, itself, formerly “al-Qaeda in Iraq and al-Sham” or “al-Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant”). That al-Qaeda, don’t you know, is a different outfit from al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula . . . which, of course, should never be mistaken for “al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb,” “Boko Haram,” “Ansar al-Sharia,” or the latest entry, “al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent.” (Source) (snip) …there is a purpose behind this dizzying proliferation of names assigned to what, in reality, is a global network with multiple tentacles and occasional internecine rivalries. (snip) Obama has not quelled our enemies; he has miniaturized them. The jihad and the sharia supremacism that fuels it form the glue that unites the parts into a whole — a worldwide, ideologically connected movement rooted in Islamic scripture that can project power on the scale of a nation-state and that seeks to conquer the West. The president does not want us to see the threat this way. For a product of the radical Left like Obama, terrorism is a regrettable but understandable consequence of American arrogance. That it happens to involve Muslims is just the coincidental fallout of Western imperialism in the Middle East, not the doctrinal command of a belief system that perceives itself as engaged in an inter-civilizational conflict. 
McCarthy points out something that has been obscured in what he calls the “smiley face” reporting on our Arab so-called coalition partners in the attacks. The Arab forces that went into air combat focused solely on ISIS in Iraq. They did not touch AQ in Syria, aka the Khorasan Group.
it turns out that our moderate Islamist partners have no interest in fighting Syria’s al-Qaeda affiliate. Yes, they reluctantly, and to a very limited extent, joined U.S. forces in the strikes against the Islamic State renegades. But that’s not because the Islamic State is jihadist while they are moderate. It is because the Islamic State has made mincemeat of Iraq’s forces, is a realistic threat to topple Assad, and has our partners fretting that they are next on the menu. Meantime, though, the Saudis and Qatar want no trouble with the rest of al-Qaeda, particularly with al-Nusra. After all, al-Qaeda’s Syrian branch is tightly allied with the “moderate opposition” that these “moderate” Gulf states have been funding, arming, and training for the jihad against Assad. Oh, and what about those other “moderates” Obama has spent his presidency courting, the Muslim Brotherhood? It turns out they are not only all for al-Qaeda, they even condemn what one of their top sharia jurists, Wagdy Ghoneim, has labeled “the Crusader war against the Islamic State.” (Source) 
We cannot defeat an enemy we cannot bring ourselves to name. Admitting that historically well-grounded interpretations of Islam’s orthodoxy call for the destruction of nonbelievers through either conversion or beheading and the establishment of a universal sharia state (the global caliphate) make it difficult to do business with not just the Saudis but with the billion-plus Muslims in the world, even the ones personally disinterested in beheadings, or forcible jihad. Snd by doing business, I mean share the planet with. Or as the bumper sticker puts it: “coexist.”


This awful truth is so terrible that almost nobody except a few brave souls that have given up on participating in the governmental, business, or media power establishment of the United States are willing to state it outright. Doing so is just so darn inconvenient. And saying that "one of the world's great religions" is doctrinally commited to conquering and forcing us into submission (Islam, after all, means "submission," not "peace") makes it difficult to maintain bases, do business with, or form alliances with countries, not to mention accomodate the millions of Muslims that we have decided to allow to immigrate to our country. So we still pursue on ostrich strategy with regard to Islam. That didn't work out too well for the Byzantine Empire and I am not hopeful it will work any better for us.

Known For 2 Years, Khorasan Is Core Al Qaeda

The sudden appearance on the scene last week of the terror group Khorasan is very meaningful. Khorasan is the heart of Al Qaeda, some half a dozen inner core of Bin Laden's inner circle that picked up its bags and moved from Pakistan to Syria. They are probably embedded in Nusra (Al Qaeda in Syria). The Obama administration has known about them for two years. Yet only last week they have made its existence known. This is no coincidence by any means, but a ploy to get legal cover for Obama's war: if there's an imminent threat of Khorasan against the West, according to the UN Charter this constitutes justification for an attack. Needless to say this is superfluous. According to Natural Law, neither the dictator Assad, nor the marauders of IS, have any righteous claim to existence.

A Jihad Group More Deadly Than Islamic State

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) may be dominating the news, but a new, highly classified group may be posing a more imminent threat to Western interests. Operatives and explosives experts from Osama bin Laden's old al Qaeda network may be members of the group. In de US agents are searching for hidden explosives. Laptops and phones with dead batteries have been banned from flights. Great Britain raised its national terror threat level. These hardened terrorists loyal to al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri are working on new, hard-to-detect bombs. In a disturbing testimony Wednesday, the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Matt Olsen warned that U.S. agencies are unable to effectively track Western jihadists inside Syria.

The leader of the group is said to be Muhsin al-Fadhli, one of Osama bin Laden's closest confidants. He is allegedly one of the few who had prior knowledge of the attacks on 9/11. Khorasan includes technicians trained by al Qaeda's master bomb-builder, Ibrahim al-Asiri. The Yemen-based Asiri built the infamous but ultimately unsuccessful underwear bombs and two cargo bombs concealed in printer cartridges. He is considered one of the most ingenious bomb-builders in the jihadist world, and he's still operating freely, at least for now. The CIA is doing what it can to track Asiri down.

At the moment Khorasan poses no specific, credible threat. But as information about Khorasan becomes available, it's clear that al Qaeda remains obsessed with bombs, airplanes, and attacking the West. The FBI is tracking American jihadists who may return home.

A final word about the socalled de-radicalization programs with which Saudi Arabia has been experimenting, mentioned by Spencer in the video above. These are exercises in futility. Radically following a certain ideology back to its fundamental beginnings is not a mental disease. It has everything to do with the morality of that ideology; Jihad and the apocalyptic conquest of the infidel is one of the highest duties in Islam. That can only be remedied with another morality, in which life trumps the duty to Allah.
