The Coalition is engaging in limited 'kinetic' strikes against the Islamic State in Syria. John Kerry has said the objective of this long term counter-terrorist op is not the destruction of IS. It is consistent with the Western contradictory strategy to combat Assad as well.

The Chemical Weapons Canard Against Assad
Aug 27, 2013 Testimony from victims now strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin Nerve Gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior UN diplomat said Monday.
In the new year a word on an old issue as a matter of record. Since the use of chemical weapons can only be of interest to subscribers to the Just War Theory - which this blog is not - we didn't pay much attention to the issue at the time. But footage has now surfaced (h/t @JacquelineWXxx) of Carla del Ponte, a member of the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, telling Swiss TV there were "strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof," that rebels seeking to oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent. To this day the MSM are pushing the logic that "Assad used chemical weapons". (Source)
