(LIVE COVERAGE) SENATE CONFIRMATION OF JUDGE KAVANAUGH

President Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh for a seat on the US Supreme Court. The 53 year old Catholic originalist Judge will tilt the balance of the Court for decades to come on the side of the Constitution as intended. On Sep. 27 the Senate Judiciary Committee held a public hearing with Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who claims the judge sexually assaulted her nearly four decades ago.

Live stream: Senate Voting on Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court.

UPDATE: The Senate is debating the confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court with a vote expected at some time between 3:30 and 4pmET.

Here's what happened yesterday, including Senator Susan Collins (R Maine) acclaimed declaration.

Oct. 5, 2018 Senator Susan Collins CRUCIAL Speech.

With a very compelling on Senate floor, Key Republican Senator Susan Collins announced her final decision to vote YES on the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be Associate Justice in the Supreme Court. Tammy Bruce:
In the midst of the debacle over the Senate confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, delivered a speech on the Senate floor Friday that reminded us of the potential of political discourse there. As a supporter of President Trump and critic of the establishment swamp, I can say these last few weeks of the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing have delivered more than one surprise for all of us. Watching the Republican Party come together – and seeing senators who have personified the weakness of the GOP stand up for what’s right – has been a revelation. If you had told me last month I would be praising Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Collins, I would have thought you were crazy. Yet here we are and all three have been beacons during this fight, and delivered when under extraordinary pressure.  ⏩ The matter of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford is not closed! The attempt to sabotage Judge Kavanaugh is a continuation of the FBI's Peter Strzok's efforts to take down President Trump. Monica McLean was part of the confab. She and Ford refined the attack during their a shared vacation on the beach. McLean lawyer Laufman was involved in the FBI Clinton probe and Special Counsel Mueller Russian interference probe as well as taking out General Flynn. Now he’s involved in the Kavanaugh plot.

(...) Once Kavanaugh is officially confirmed, perhaps there should be another investigation — an investigation into Christine Ford, her attorneys, and Senate Democrats. There is plenty of smoke to indicate that this was all a highly-coordinated political hit job. If it was — indeed, if there was any coordination at all, in any form — then this would be one of the great scandals in American political history. Let's review the evidence that potentially points toward something sinister (...) There are many crucial questions that must still be answered. Kavanaugh has been thoroughly exonerated, but Ford, her team, and Senate Democrats should now come under the microscope. Coordinated smear campaigns destroy innocent lives and undermine our system of government. A CNN analyst said yesterday that this is all "just politics." No, it's a lot more than that. If this was a calculated effort to lie, slander, and perjure — which is certainly how it looks — then it is not "politics" but a crime, and everyone involved should spend the next several years in a prison cell. (VIDEO) SENATE PROCEEDING WITH KAVANAUGH CONFIRMATION

Oct. 5, 2018 Judiciary Ctee chairman Chuck Grassley Goes Off in Pre-Vote Appeal to Confirm Kavanaugh: ‘No to Mob Rule!’

The Senate today narrowly voted to start 30 hours of debate before confirming Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Everything depends on three Republican Senators -- Collins (voted yes), Murkowski (voted no) and Flake (voting yes) -- and one Democrat for Trump state West Virginia (also voted yes). All eyes are now on tomorrow afternoon 4:52pmET for the final vote. Collins of Maine is going to make a statement later on today, clarifying how she will vote tomorrow. Murkowski of Alaska in almost certainly lost. In the meantime a  number of things have emerged from the Ford testimony, from witness tampering to withholding evidence. The fix was in, as they say.

A friend of Christine Blasey Ford told FBI investigators that she felt pressured by Dr. Ford’s allies to revisit her initial statement that she knew nothing about an alleged sexual assault by a teenage Brett Kavanaugh, which she later updated to say that she believed but couldn’t corroborate Dr. Ford’s account, according to people familiar with the matter. Leland Keyser, who Dr. Ford has said was present at the gathering where she was allegedly assaulted in the 1980s, told investigators that Monica McLean, a retired Federal Bureau of Investigation agent and a friend of Dr. Ford’s, had urged her to clarify her statement, the people said. The statement to the FBI offers a glimpse into how Dr. Ford’s allies were working behind the scenes to lobby old classmates to bolster their versions of the alleged incident, as were Judge Kavanaugh’s. TRUMP: FBI FREE REIGN IN KAVANAUGH PROBE

President Trump said Saturday the FBI has "free reign" to conduct its investigation into Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh but that he hopes the investigation uncovers who leaked the letter his accuser Christine Blasey Ford sent lawmakers. Trump directed the FBI to re-open its background investigation of Kavanaugh on Friday, the day after Kavanaugh and Ford testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Ford has accused Kavanaugh of groping her and trying to take off her clothes without her consent while the two were at in high school in 1982. Kavanaugh has denied the allegation. (More)

⏩ In the meantime sex crimes prosecutor Rachel Mitchell, a non-partisan third-party with more than 25 years’ experience prosecuting sex crimes in the state of Arizona, carefully reviewed the allegations made by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, including hours of testimony, and has released a report on the matter. In the report, Mitchell points out more than a dozen glaring inconsistencies in Dr. Ford’s account and paints the accusations as potentially fraudulent. Mitchell’s points out several points (more).

⏩ It has become clear that Senator Jeff Flake's kabuki theater in the elevator with some "survivors" was an organized ambush which may or may not have included Flake himself.

The New York Daily News describes Archila as “a member of the Working Families Party and executive director of the New York-based (and Soros-funded -Ed.) Center for Popular Democracy.” Watch as Archila lays out her rationale for specifically targeting Flake, later concedes that opposition to Kavanaugh is mostly over political ideology, and listen as Jorge Ramos seems to encourage more of these performances. The below portions aired on Univision’s Al Punto on Sunday, September 30, 2018. (More)

⏩ Smearing Kavanaugh has no longer  free.

The Senate Judiciary Committee referred apparent false statements made to committee investigators alleging misconduct by Judge Brett Kavanaugh for criminal investigation on Saturday. Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray seeking to have “materially false statements” made to the committee as part of its investigation of allegations against Kavanaugh referred for criminal investigation.  ⏩ The same goes for the Senate Judiciary Committee and Ford's lawyers in particular, and the Democrats in general.

Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton announced that he’s turning over Ford’s lawyers to the D.C. Bar Association to be investigated for not disclosing that the Senate was willing to travel to California to meet with Ford, proving once again that this is nothing but a stall tactic.

Tom Cotton said Dianne Feinstein’s office will be investigated for the leak of Christine Blasey Ford’s letter, a message she explicitly requested be kept confidential. Speaking Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Cotton told host John Dickerson that, not only will Feinstein and her staffers be investigated for the leak of Ford’s confidential letter, but that Ford’s lawyers will also face a Washington, D.C., bar investigation for allegedly not informing her that Senate Judiciary Committee staffers were willing to travel to California to interview her about her allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. (VIDEO) BLASEY-FORD BODY LANGUAGE ANALYSIS

Sep. 28, 2018 Body language expert analysis of Christine Blasey Ford hearing.

UPDATE: This video and analysis of Ford's body language explains she played the roll of a cutesy little girl. Her goal was to use the power of emotions to manipulate the audience. Contrast the Judge's breaking voice with Ford's voice distortion.

Dr. Ford comes across as a very mixed up woman. She speaks in a little girl’s voice which is plain weird. Are her actions associated with a past traumatic incident when she was a little girl? Overall she comes across as a little 6-year-old girl in a grown woman’s body. The overall analysis is that "something’s wrong mentally' with Dr. Ford. The body language expert isn't the only one who thinks so.

But wait. There's more..

The Last Refuge has the entire story in a thread.

And then there's Flake and his last minute kabuki theater "caught on camera".
