Connecticut Sends Out First Gun Confiscation Letters

Gun confiscations is one step closer in Connecticut. The mainstream media spins it as “one more chance” for non-compliant gun owners who failed to register their scary guns before the January 1 deadline. In reality, these letters - 106 to rifle owners, and 108 more to residents with standard capacity magazines – are the first step in the Connecticut State Police beginning to round up guns arbitrarily made illegal last year in that state. These guns include America’s favorite rifle, the AR-15 and magazines over 10 rounds, which include the standard capacity magazines made for that America’s favorite rifle. Failure to register is now a felony now in Connecticut. How long will it be before there is bloodshed over this law? We’re not sure, but we’re confident it is coming unless the law is rescinded or struck down by the courts. (Source)

New Study Demolishes Gun Control Myths

A study published in the latest issue of the academic journal Applied Economics Letters took on many of the claims made regularly by advocates of stricter gun laws. The study determined that nearly every claim made in support of stronger restrictions on gun ownership is not supported by an exhaustive analysis of crime statistics. The study, “An examination of the effects of concealed weapons laws and assault weapons bans on state-level murder rates,” conducted by Quinnipiac University economist Mark Gius, examined nearly 30 years of statistics and concluded that stricter gun laws do not result in a reduction in gun violence. In fact, Gius found the opposite – that a proliferation of concealed carry permits can actually reduce incidents of gun crime. (Source)

Obama's Progress on Executive Actions

The Obama administration has “completed or made significant progress” on 21 of 23 executive actions to try to reduce gun violence developed after the mass shooting in Newtown, Conn. They include ending the freeze on gun violence research, addressing barriers that keep states from submitting records to the national background check system and making sure federal law enforcement agencies trace guns recovered in investigations. Biden will give his first extensive remarks on gun control since the Democratic-controlled Senate rejected a slew of gun control proposals – expanding background checks, renewing an assault weapons ban and limiting the size of ammunition clips – in April. Sen. Inhofe: Obama Administration Trying To "Dry Up" Ammo Supply (video)

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Oklahoma) tells WABC-AM radio host Aaron Klein that he believes the Obama administration is purposefully buying so much gun ammunition to "dry up" the supply. Obama's gun control agenda was routed in the Senate yesterday. The Obama blamed the NRA. But he invited this meltdown by exploiting the Newtown massacre to ram through a liberal wish-list that wouldn't have stopped the next mass murder.

The biggest news is the defeat of the amendment expanding background checks. The Obama's plans on certain rifles and large ammunition clips didn't even make 50 votes.

The gun hating Dems, who believe spoons make you fat, will of course not give up.
