Angola: Islam Doesn't Qualify as a Recognized Religion

Angola has decided to ban Islam and ordered the destruction of mosques in an effort to prevent what happened to non-Muslims in other parts of the world, especially in Africa

This video from September 14, 2013 surfaced with the following text translated from Portuguese: Warning - The destruction of nine mosques, should be stopped immediately and we demand the apologize from President Angola to Muslims worldwide. If not, then we would like to invite the Muslim community to hold peaceful demonstrations in front of the buildings of Angolan embassies worldwide. H/t @JacquelineWxxx blog

There is evidence that mosques have been destroyed since at least September this year. The UAE are already up in arms (Source) (auto translation from CNN Arabic)

UPDATE: The Guardian appears to have solved the conundrum of the Angolan 'ban of Islam' while at the same time managed put it into the service of Jihad. Under Angolan law, to receive legal recognition, a religious organization needs 100,000 members, whereas Muslim Angolans number 90,000 (out of about 18 million). Atlas Shrugs has more:
The Guardian newspaper, in its unending service to the jihad, has successfully ginned up the Muslims in the UK to protest against the tiny nation of Angola for a news story that the Guardian more than manufactured ("Angola bans Islam!").
What actually happened is that the Angolan justice ministry last month “rejected the applications of 194 organisations, including one from the Islamic community.” But the protesters do not appear to want religious freedom either, but called for a ban on democracy and the establishment of a Islamic Khilafah (caliphate) in Angola, establishing Sharia law. 'Islam', stated one of the posters some held, 'Will Dominate the World'.
Not content to destroy just Great Britain, the Guardian wants the rest of the world to suffer Britain's grave fate. It seems to me that the Guardian is "not conducive to the public good" -- perhaps the British government should silence the Guardian. Did they not ban Robert Spencer and me for this very reason? Angola Islam Ban: 'Mosques Have Been Destroyed'

One of the Islamic world's most important clerics, Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam said such a move would be "a provocation not only to Angolan Muslims but to more than 1.5 billion Muslims all over the world".
David Ja, a spokesman for local Muslims, challenged the government's account and said that a number of mosques had already been closed. But according to the ministry of culture, those closures were related to a lack of necessary land titles, building licenses or other official documents. A witness in the province of Uige (Carmona) told Al Jazeera that the closed mosques were hastility built by expatriate communities from west and north Africa who needed a place to perform Friday prayers. “It’s true that several mosques have been destroyed and others simply shut down in the last few months. Most of the mosques that were destroyed were built without government permission. Two authorised mosques in Luanda are still operating without a problem. I have not heard of any official decision to ban Islam or prohibit Muslim prayers in mosques.” Ahmed ould Taher told Al Jazeera. (Source)

Confusion about Reports on Angola's Ban on Islam

Curiouser and curiouser...

Angolan diplomats in the United States have denied reports the government has banned Islam and begun demolishing mosques. A rash of dubious reports announced the move this weekend, adding mosques were being already destroyed across the predominately Christian African country. (Source)

Angola Denies it Banned Islam, Destroyed Mosques

Well, that didn't take long!

(...) an official at the Angolan Embassy in Washington, D.C., who did not want to be identified while discussing the sensitive matter, said that there is no such ban, and that the reports are erroneous. “The Republic of Angola … it’s a country that does not interfere in religion,” the official said via telephone Monday afternoon. “We have a lot of religions there. It is freedom of religion. We have Catholic, Protestants, Baptists, Muslims and evangelical people.” (Source)

The African state of Angola, a remnant of the Cold War, of which the political and economic elite has studied at the Lumumba University in the Soviet Union, has no compunction acting against an enemy when it sees one. And unlike the decadent West, which has unwisely allowed an intolerant ideology the freedom of religion, and has given Evil the same moral status as the Good, Angola feels free to act to protect its people.

African State Of Angola Bans Islam All Mosques To Be Destroyed

By popular demand, Angolan authorities have taken pre-emptive action and decided to ban the Muslim religion, which they consider a cult, NOT a religion. They see what Muslims are doing to non-Muslims, especially in Africa, and are taking steps to prevent the same from happening in Angola.

In early October 2013, the Muslims living in Luanda in the municipality of Viana Zango were shocked to see the minaret of their mosque dismantled into pieces on the ground without permission. On Thursday 03 October in the morning, the Angolan authorities decided to destroy the mosque Zango located in the urban district of Viana 17 km. The governor of Luanda Bento announced in a radio spot that radical Muslims are not welcome in Angola and the Angolan government is not ready for the legalization of mosques in Angola.

And on Tuesday, November 19, the Minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva said. “Regarding Islam, the legalization process has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. Therefore all mosques would be closed until further notice. “ It should be noted that the Angolan government has made closing of all mosques a priority. The only two mosques located in Luanda have already received a warning document signed by the mayor of the municipality of Viana José Moreno.

The provincial governor of Luanda, Bento Bento, said on the airwaves of local radio that “radical Muslims are not welcome in Angola and the Angolan government is not ready for the legalization of mosques.” Minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva explained that the law on freedom of religion will be reviewed given the current national context , noting that the Government will redouble its efforts to fight relentlessly against religious cults like Islam which are contrary to the customs of Angolan culture.

95% of Angola’s population is Christian. A quarter belongs to Protestant churches founded during the colonial period, including congregational evangelical church. This decisive action taken by the Angolan head of state is based on a desire to guard against the rise of the Wahhabi ideology that has created havoc, death and destruction in Africa and elsewhere. And as rightly explained Tunisian philosopher Mezri Haddad: “Islamism and Islamophobia feed each other. Worse, long-term Islamism as an ideology destroy Islam as religion. “ (...
