(VIDEO) WHAT IS CHINA'S LONG-TERM PARADIGMA?

The Far East is another powder keg created by the Obama power vacuum. Candidate Trump took a tough position on China trade and military expansion. Then came the Mar-a-Lago conclave. President Trump told Xi Jinping that if he wouldn't fix North Korea, the US would. After a virtual blockade and decades in a state of war President Trump offered Kim Jong-un a one time package deal he can hardly afford to turn down.

UPDATE: Mark Levin had a "must see" episode last Sunday on his FoxNews program in which he talked about the Chinese long term policies with Mike Pillsbury @MikePillsbury, lnational security expert, director for Chinese Strategy at the Hudson Institute, and author of "The Hundred-Year Marathon" (transcript). In the meantime negotiations with North Korea are ongoing. Thomas Wictor has a special way of looking at the relation between President Trump and Kim Jong-Un.

POMPEO: MAJOR NOKO DISARMAMENT EXPECTED BY 2020

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says the United States wants North Korea to take major nuclear disarmament steps within the next two years. Pompeo is laying out an ambitious timeline for denuclearization following President Donald Trump’s meeting with Kim Jong Un. He says he won’t disclose specific timelines but that the administration is hopeful that “major, major disarmament” steps can occur before the end of Trump’s first term. The term ends in January 2021. Pompeo is also urging skepticism after North Korean official media said Trump had agreed to a step-by-step approach to denuclearization. Pompeo isn’t being specific but says that “one should heavily discount some things that are written in other places.” Pompeo spoke to reporters from Seoul, South Korea. (More)

CHINA PULLS MISSILES FROM SOUTH CHINA SEA

China’s activities in the South China Sea have proven to be one of the most contentious geopolitical issues of the Trump Presidency. Leading up to a successful summit in Singapore between President Trump and North Korean leader Chairman Kim Jong Un, new data released by Israeli Private Intelligence Firm ImageSat shows that China removed anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles from Woody Island, in the South China Sea last week. (VIDEO) TRUMP-KIM SUMMIT: PRESS  CONFERENCE

June 12, 2018 President Trump-Kim Jong-un Summit Press Conference.

After a morning of talks with Kim Jong-un, the extended working lunch and the signing of the agreement, President Trump gave an extensive press conference. The critics keep bringing up invalid arguments against the talks. A Democrat talking point is "buying the same horse tree times". They forget that Kim did not invent North Korea; he was born into it, the third leader in the Kim dynasty and educated in Switzerland. Like Saudi reformer crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (tweet), it is no far fetched idea this millennial would like to lead a normal country. This is why the Trump foreign policy doctrine of security, prosperity and technology for terrorism/nukes is so attractive.

June 12, 2018 The offer no millennial can refuse: security, prosperity and technology for Stalinist nukes.

Some genius emerged Kim in Singapore's night live, just to rub this argument in. Then there is the asinine argument that talking to dictators lends them legitimacy. Really?

Kim is not some ISIS upstart! This dynasty has been in charge of Noko for the last 70 years! While violators of man's rights are morally never legitimate leaders, only a denier of reality would question Kim's rule at this stage.

(VIDEO) TRUMP-KIM SUMMIT: PRE MEETING BRIEFING

June 11, 2018 Briefing by Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.

Singapore is approximately 12 hours ahead of the U.S. eastern time zone. The scheduled meeting between President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong-un will take place around 9:00pm (Monday EDT), which will be 9:00am (Tue) in Singapore. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivered remarks and took questions earlier today: Schedules and events (TCT).

KOREA TALKS MOVING "MORE QUICKLY THAN EXPECTED"

You can throw away the diplo playbook and turn off the talking heads. Here be dragons! Like Saudi Arabia last year, North Korea has been offered a package deal it can't afford to refuse: security guarantees, prosperity and technology for nukes. Pompeo: "US will offer 'unique' security guarantees" (BBC). The discussions between the United States and North Korea are ongoing and have moved more quickly than expected.

President Donald J. Trump will meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. President Trump and Chairman Kim will participate in a one-on-one meeting, with translators only and a working lunch.

The US delegation at tomorrow's expanded bilateral meeting will include Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Chief of Staff John Kelly, and National Security Advisor John Bolton. Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, Ambassador Sung Kim, and National Security Council Senior Director for Asia Matt Pottinger

The Noko delegation consists of Chairman Kim Jong-un's sister, Kim Yo Jong, Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, Defense Minister No Kwan Chol, Vice-Chairman Kim Yong Chol and Vice-Chairman Ri Su Yong.

At the conclusion of the summit, President Trump will participate in a media availability before departing tomorrow at approximately 8 p.m. for the US, a day earlier than expected. There will be no second day meetings.

Earlier Kim Jong-un and President Donald Trump met separately with the Lee Hsien Loong, the prime minister of Singapore (more) and son of the famous Lee Kuan Yew, the founding father of modern Singapore that combines economic capitalism with social control. The venue is therefore symbolic. Prosperity and tecnology are the carrots in the Trump doctrine.

Singapore was the model also for China's Deng Xiaopeng's state capitalism in China from 1978 onwards. India copied the model to great acclaim in 1991 by Manmohan Singh and President Kagame of Rwanda a few years later. North Korea may follow in its path, as does the Middle East.

Western nations have to understand this. A Government can impose economic conditions that lead to prosperity. But social and individual liberties can't be imposed top down, as George W. Bush learned in Iraq. Individuals need to free themselves; your cannot do that for them. The Singapore model may ultimately lead to Western style individual liberty and a civil society, or it may not.

CNN has its priorities in order. Should you want to know where's Kim Jong-un is staying during the summit? A peek inside the St. Regis Singapore (CNN).

IT'S BACK ON! LEADERS HUG AGAIN AT DMZ

For starters, let's not dignify the criticism and 'suggestions' from the losers who got us in the mess we are today. Democrat Brad Sherman even had the gall to uphold the Obama Iran deal as the summit of diplomatic achievement. Just hours ago the leaders of North and South Korea held another hugging event at the demilitarized zone. Both parties really, really want the Singapore meeting to proceed. As we have seen, it is China that wants to hold on to their leverage and has no interest in unification or de-nuclearization of Korea. Nevertheless the White House is looking at options to return their advance party to Singapore to prepare for the summit. It is important to remember that historically, China and Korea are not friendly nations. The countries have distinct cultures and different languages. Thomas Wictor is a keen military observer who thinks he's worked out who's in charge: it's China. Last night the US and China reached agreement on a rescue program for Chinese telecom company, TZE.
