PLANET TRUMP: 50 PARADIGM SHIFTS, ONE YEAR ON

Donald Trump won the Presidential election of 2016. But what does that mean? Welcome to planet Trump. The repercussions of the new President as leader of the most powerful nation on earth are almost infathomable. The political and media establishment (but also entire swathes of the world population) still don't know what hit them.

UPDATE: A year ago we posted 50 paradigm shifts as a result of the Donald J. Trump presidency, either as a cause of his policies or indirectly by the transformation in the political and cultural landscape. One year on we are taking stock of the situation.

1. President Trump does not believe in man made climate change and he's not going to waste a penny on the racket, dealing a heavy blow to the global climate movement.
✓ President Trump withdrew the US from the Paris Climate Accord in June 2017 (source).

2. Islam realism will become a legitimate position (source). In practice this means that migrants and refugees from areas plagued by radical Islamic terrorism, will only be admitted after 'extreme vetting'.
⟴ The Trump administration is still struggling with the temporary extreme vetting order. Although the Supreme Court has given its blessing, once again a lower court took it upon itself to overturn the SCOTUS decision (source).

3. The mainstream media have lost all relevance.
✓ Check. Dead as a door nail.

4. Members of NATO will have to pay their fair share.
✓ Check.

5. The EU has lost American support and will have to stop challenging President Putin of Russia.
⟴ The EU is the EU, a group of arrogant elitists who believe they are the arbiters of supreme moral truth. Even though they lost American support, that did not stop them from picking a fight with Russia.

6. The globalist EU will become isolated. In a short period of time the UK as well as the US have turned their backs on the EU. Within Europe anti EU sentiment is gaining momentum.
✓ Merkel in Germany and Macron in France are struggling. Brexit is in progress. Austria has gone populist and the rift within the EU with the rebellious Visegrad nations is widening. Last week leaders of parties from France, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Britain and other countries met in Prague to discuss ideas for Europe's future under the headline "For a Europe of Sovereign Nations." (Source)

7. Trumpism will become a legitimate political movement. Other countries seeking solutions for present day problems will be attracted to President Trump's political program.
✓ We know this to be the case in the Netherlands. Since Trump announced moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem, his popularity in Israel has gone crescendo (source). Since his trip to Saudi Arabia and the declaration of the 41 nation coalition against terrorism (source) Trump's popularity is soring in the Middle East. The same goes for the Asian countries he visited in the fall (source). President Trump continues to inspire nations all over the world.

8. Unlimited migration (including the right to vote) as a means to expand the liberal base, without the adoption of Western values and without integration of recent arrivals, will come under increased fire.
⟴ President Trump seems to be willing to make a DACA deal with the Democrats for some final status of the so called DREAMERS, young people who came to the US as minors. But the President has made clear he wants to end chain migration of entire extended families. In the EU, mass migration continues unabated under cover of the 1953 UN Refugee Agreement.

9. Right-wing populism is no longer a marginal phenomenon. A major part of the Anglo-Saxon world has now embraced the movement (UK and US).
✓ Check. See also point 7.

10. It has become clear that 'hitting back' (one of Donald Trump's personal rules) works, provided it is applied consistently.
✓ Although still not very well understood as a principle, President Trump continues to apply the counter punch with due diligence, even if 'unpresidential'.

11. The alpha male is back in fashion. Masculinity is a natural trait in men, and must be accepted as good.
⟴ The war on men continues unabated. The Year 2017 saw the phenomenon of #MeToo, women casting themselves as the victims of various degrees of sexual harassment, from frivolous misconduct and failed attempts at courtship to actual serious crime. It goes to the root of the fundamental principles of Western civilization: the presumption of innocence and due process. As Hillary put it: "all women have the right to be believed". Apparently women are above lying. The movement has the potential to spiral out of control in a spectacular fashion and destroy the careers and lives of a great number of good men in the process. The rehabilitation of masculinity will have to wait for now.

12. ISIS is now under attack from all sides. Trump vowed to destroy them. Quite intentionally he has refused to be specific and has not said when he will attack. N.B. the Commander in Chief does not require the permission of Congress for a short and limited offensive.
✓ ISIS as a territorial force has been annihilated in a mere 9 months since the inauguration of President Trump. Obama idolaters are claiming the process was set in motion under the previous administration. This is glaring nonsense. Obama sat on his hands for years, watching ISIS grow out of control because he saw them as a force against Assad whom he vowed to depose during the Arab Spring. It put him strategically in an impossible position as marauders terrorized minorities in Syria. Everything was subject to politics under the Obama regime. When Trump unleashed the superior US forces, the Islamic State was reduced to rubble in a matter of months. The return of disbanded, battle hardened terrorists to the West is a problem European leaders refuse to deal with. President Trump is vowed to refuse them return to the US.

13. A situation unknown since the twenties has become a reality: the Republicans have not just won the White House, but also keep their majority in the House and in the Senate. The President will be able to quickly realize a large part of his agenda.
✓ The narrow majority in the Senate has cost the GOP the Repeal and Replace Obamacare negotiations, but the Tax Cuts and Jobs plan was passed before Christmas. The GOP lost an Alabama Senate seat, reducing the majority to a mere 51-49. The new year 2018 will see the campaigns for midterm elections on November 6. All 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 33 of the 100 seats in the Senate will be contested. (More) The Democrats are talking about a "blue wave" but this is without doubt wishful thinking.

14. President Trump will change America in a considerable way. He has not just free reign to realize his political program; his agenda is also very radical (unlike the traditional policies of the Republican party).
✓ Although Democrats will paint the Trump tenure as a legislative failure (see point 13), the President's first year has been wildly successful (source). Especially the judicial appointments will make their influence felt long after Trump's tenure. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Bill will continue to fire the already strengthened economy. Trump has set his eyes on Welfare reform and an infra structure bill next. Perhaps even more pertinent to the point in question, Trump continues to drain the swamp: in the new year we will see the showdown with the deep state holdovers in the Department of Justice, the FBI and Mueller's Special Counsel.

15. The world order as conceived after 1945 and 1989 no longer exists.
⟴ Well, perhaps we over stretched at this point. The EU doubled down on tyranny, but its demise is a matter of time. President Trump has withdrawn the US from the Paris Climate Accord (see point 1). More recently he announced moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem and his Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley has negotiated millions of dollars of cuts to the UN budget. The movement for the preservation of the sovereign state is gaining strength as we speak. In the short term it is possible that the forces of globalism win a few battles, but in the long term they will certainly not win the war. Globalism is bad for human civilization, it kills economic prosperity and runs roughshod over the interests of the people and their democratic institutions.

16. President Trump gets to appoint at least one, but potentially four new Judges to the Supreme Court. For the next 30 to 40 years the Court will be at least balanced, but will probably have a majority of originalist Judges. Originalists take the Constitution as it was written, instead of interpreting it freely and legislating from the bench.
✓ Here is a comprehensive list of all Article III and Article IV United States federal judges appointed by Donald Trump, most notably Justice Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court on Feb. 1. President Trump entered office with an unprecedented amount of federal court vacancies and has made more than 50 nominations in his first eleven months in office. Twenty-two of his judicial nominees have been confirmed by the Senate. The appointees will wield their constitutionalist power, in some cases for the next generations.

17. For the first time in contemporary history a Republican President will enjoy the support of many Europeans, if not of their Governments. Right-wing populism is growing in strength in continental Europe.
✓ Check. See also point 6.

18. Donald Trump has a number of personal qualities that will become increasingly valued in politicians: the will to fight, the will to win, self confidence, solution driven, real world experience and broad spectrum insight will become much sought after qualities in political leaders.
⟴ On the Left Trump's qualities are willfully or subconsciously denied. Even to friendly forces the President's many unique personal characteristics are not always well understood. A man who wants to win, is required to trigger responses in friend and foe alike. War is deception. Who wants to understand Donald J. Trump is well advised to take up Sun Tzu and follow Scott Adams' Periscope broadcasts @ScottAdamsSays.

19. Policies that smother economic growth (apart of confiscatory taxation) as cronyism and large scale regulation, will be scrapped. The positive economic effects will be huge and immediate.
⟴ Trump agencies issued 67 deregulatory actions while imposing only three new regulatory actions after he made good on his campaign promise to deregulate by signing a directive that departments must eliminate regulations 2:1. Finally the ratio was 22:1. (More)

20. The acceptance of zero growth as the new normal as in Europe, Japan and Obama's America, is history. President Trump has projected economic growth in the region of 4 to 6 percent per year once considered impossible.
✓ Check. Some Leftist economists still maintain that 1 percent growth is more than enough to maintain Western living standards. In fact, we have been going backward for decades, which is the reason the forgotten men and women voted for Trump in the way they did. The new Tax Cuts and Jobs law lowers the corporate tax rate from 35 to 21 percent, bringing it on par with the rest of the developed world. This will spur growth even further.

21. The Iran deal will be scrapped.
⟴ President Trump has not yet scrapped the deal with Iran, but he has signaled he is moving in that direction. In the meantime Hezbollah Gate is breaking amidst allegations that the Obama Administration purposefully undermined law enforcement efforts against Hezbollah in order to save the disastrous Iran Deal. In a bombshell report by Politico‘s Josh Meyer, the Obama administration is accused of protecting Hezbollah drug and human trafficking rings to help ensure a nuclear deal with Iran was achieved. (More) In the meantime serious protests have broken out. It may go any which way, but the goal seems to be regime change. (Live Blog)

22. The US becomes energy independent.
⟴ One of the first acts as President was the opening up of the Keystone XL pipeline (more). The Christmas Tax Cuts and Jobs Bill contains previsions for the exploitation of the Alaska ANWR oil field (Wiki). During the campaign Trump called for an end to the war on coal and in August a new coal mine held its grand opening in Pennsylvania. Trump recorded a video message for the opening ceremony for Corsa Coal Corporation’s Acosta Mine in Somerset County.

23. Military interventions not in US interests, like the ones pursued by Presidents Obama, G.W. Bush (43) and Clinton are dead and buried.
✓ Check.

24. Germany, Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arabia will have to pay for US protection.
✓ Check.

25. American talk radio hosts like Michael Savage (who supported Trump since 2011) and Alex Jones (who helped popularize Trump in a major way) are largely ignored by politicians and the mainstream media. After the election of Donald Trump they have become more relevant to a large segment of the public than the mainstream media.
⟴ The war on alternative media is part of the establishment's drive against so called Fake News. In the US this trick largely backfired as FakeNews became synonymous with the nonsense and misinformation spouted by the mainstream media. This passed Europe largely by where the German chancellor Angela Merkel ordered Facebook and other social media to censor alternative news sources. The authorities keep looking for ways to take control of the free flow of information on the Internet. In the background Obama is still stoking the fires of interventionism and censorhip.

26. Brexit as well as Trump's electoral victory would not have been possible without the Internet. The Internet has played a major role in the Arab Spring (which turned out a disaster) and other movements around the world. This development can't be stopped. Cyber man has once again taken over power from the institutions.
⟴ See point 25. The "democratization" of institutions can't be stopped on the long haul. It is a civilizational revolution on par with the invention of the printing press. It helped spur the spread and  influence of the Western Enlightenment, a process that is in progress to this day. The forces of tyranny, be they Islamic in nature or today's Western liberal globalism, they will not be able to oppress people power for much longer.

27. Chances are that future debate in the US will be about Conservatism versus Classical Liberalism instead of versus postmodern, Nihilistic liberalism.
⟴ No sign of this as yet.

28. The chance that Right-wing populism will gain momentum in Europe, has substantially increased.
✓ Check. Work in progress.

29. Low taxation per Reagan, Thatcher and Kennedy will become more popular when the positive effect on the economy will become apparent to a larger public.
⟴ President Trump's Christmas present will manifest itself in the February payslip. The economy is already going crescendo. Other countries, particularly in Europe, will have to follow suit if they want to stay competitive. Already the followers of Piketty are protesting: success is unfair! Their arrogance is such, that they are prepared to stick to their 'principles' (which they consider a moral issue) rather than engage the US in "a race to the bottom", as they put it.
.
30. The Left and the movement of 'social justice warriors' has been dealt a terrific blow.
✓ Check. Extremism in the name of social justice has produced sub cultures like the communist Antifas, the feminazis of #MeToo and the gender benders. The latter includes members of the gay and pedophile communities and is especially destructive in view of the abuse of pre pubescent kids that are put on hormone blockers (chemical castration) and other treatments. Most civilized countries have laws to prevent child abuse; where's law enforcement now? Authorities are often supporting this evil movement with gender neutral bathrooms and PC language in public transport. This is SJW's way of fighting back.

31. Replacing Obamacare with a free market solution will popularize the privatization of health care. Many countries will adopt the system if successful.
⟴ A work in progress.

32. The fight against cronyism will raise awareness with the voters of political corruption.
⟴ Long term issue.

33. The alarming specter of a new Cold War with Russia has been averted.
✓ That seems to be the case. The Trump regime is in regular contact with the Kremlin. Communication between two nuclear powers is a good thing!

34. The often pernicious relationship of the US with Saudi Arabia will be stalled.
✓ Not just stalled. Halted and stopped in its tracks. And not just that. The entire Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made a civilizational U-turn. The story began with President Trump's historic speech in Riyadh (scroll to the bottom of the Live Blog). The entire dynamic in the Middle East has changed; that will influence the Israel-Palestinian question, as well as the future of Iran.

35. The economic and military expansion of China will be called to a halt.
⟴ A work in progress.

36. The idea of American Exceptionalism is back in fashion. The time that Obama took apology tours around the world, is over. President Trump wants to be a cheer leader for the American brand of liberty.
✓ Check.

37. The realization of the border wall with Mexico will give even more fire to the immigration debate.
⟴ A work in progress.

38. Racial Alt-Right and values based Alt-Right will join battle for the definition of the new Nationalism.
✓ Check. Racial Alt-Right is no longer a force. It's a marginal movement without influence. Except of course for the Alt-Left, for whom it is an existential cause.

39. The American armed forces will be reconstituted under the banner of peace through strength.
⟴ A work in progress.

40. After the election loss to Trump liberalism in general is in chaos and the American Democratic Party will be powerless until at least 2018. Until then they will use subterfuge, media deception and street fights to thwart the agenda of President Trump.
✓ Check. The midterm elections in November 6, 2018 are seen as a bellwether for the 2020 Presidential elections. The Democrats could support a number of bipartisan issues of the Republicans (such as the infrastructure bill), but as we have been with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, they much prefer playing to their extreme Leftist base and obstruct everything that has the Trump signature.

41. The monster vote of invisible voters is a factor pollsters will have to take into account in the future.
✓ Check. They won't. Pollsters and pundits are setting themselves up for the same catastrophic outcome as in 2016.

42. The narrative in the public debate will get oriented on Nationalism versus Globalism rather than primarily on Capitalism versus Socialism.
⟴ Ehhm, no not yet. The debate is actually non existent. The rift is simply too big.

43. The Left and the Globalist elites are in total shock and disarray. They will have to come to terms with the reality of President Trump. They can't force anything on him. They can't control him. He is his own man. Trump will forge ties with new political leaders in his own mold.
✓ Check. Shock and awe, confusion and denial persists to this day. Love him or hate him, no one is neutral on Trump. He's getting along well with most world leaders, except the globalist nihilists in the EU.

44. President Obama's heritage will be rendered null and void.
✓ Check. Almost nothing remains but a smoldering ash heap.

45. President Trump will become an icon for many young progressive people world wide. In parts of China this is already the case.
✓ Check.

46. Brexit and the Trump victory have shown it is possible to successfully fight the narratives and the conceptual frame works of the mainstream media. This will inspire and fire up other Right-wing populist movements around the world.
✓ Check. See also point 6.

47. A dichotomy will emerge between Right-wing populists for limited Government and Right-wing populists that aspire to a large Government.
✓ Check. Long term issue.

48. The United States has vanquished fascism and Communism. The new enemy is Islam+Globalist Socialism.
✓ Check. Work in progress.

49. Some confusion related to international trade deals can be expected. In certain areas President Trump shall choose to put a stop to economic globalism, leading to negative economic effects; in other cases he will improve existing treaties resulting in positive economic effects.
✓ Check. Agreements between large trading blocks, such as TPP and TTIP have been halted. Nafta is still being re-negotiated with Mexico and Canada.

50. The geopolitical flux and the power vacuum created by President Obama is already being filled with the looming agenda of President-Elect Donald J. Trump. On the other hand it is impossible to predict what the effects of his projected policies will be.
✓ Check. Work in progress, but already the world has become a different place. North Korea and Iran are the main trouble spots. But Trump promised he "will handle it".

PLANET TRUMP: 50 PARADIGM SHIFTS

What does the world look like after the political earthquake of President Trump?

The landslide victory of Donald Trump as the new President of the United States has enormous philosophical, psychological, political and international effects (at present, but also in the shorter and longer term). The elites are shaken to the core and do not even want to think about it. That's why we did. Below in no particular order is a list of 50 new realities we shall have to come to terms with.

1. President Trump does not believe in man made climate change and he's not going to waste a penny on the racket, dealing a heavy blow to the global climate movement.

2. Islam realism will become a legitimate position (source). In practice this means that migrants and refugees from areas plagued by radical Islamic terrorism, will only be admitted after 'extreme vetting'.

Trump will forge ties with new political leaders who are more in his own mould.

44. President Obama's heritage will be rendered null and void.

45. President Trump will become an icon for many young progressive people world wide. In parts of China this is already the case.

46. Brexit and the Trump victory have shown it is possible to successfully fight the narratives and the conceptual framings of the mainstream media. This will inspire and fire up other Right-wing populist movements around the world.
