Obama's Historical SOTU: Socialism Justifies Tyranny

Barack Obama in his Speech Of The Union told the free American People that he intends to suspend the democratic process and by-pass Congress in order to spread the wealth around and 'take America down a peg or two'

Glenn Beck was not a fan of President Barack Obama's fifth State of the Union address last night.

The host made that fact very clear on his radio show Wednesday morning, calling the speech "horrific from start to finish." But the "worst part," according to Beck were the "continued pronouncements that he fully intends to trash the Constitution of the United States."

Beck was referring to the president's promise to use executive orders to push through action that Congress can or will not pass. "America does not stand still -- and neither will I," Obama said in his address. "So wherever and whenever I can take steps without legislation to expand opportunity for more American families, that's what I'm going to do."

"Over and over again, looking us in the eye, he said he would use his executive power to get his way," Beck said.

"He bragged about it repeatedly." He urged his audience to remember this moment, because "this was the State of the Union where our president declared he would become America's first dictator." But "the most chilling part of the speech" according to Beck, was that half of the Congress "who are about to lose their power, cheered him like the lemmings that they are."

Obama Knew About Russia Violating Nuclear Treaty

Apparently Russia has violated the INF Medium Range Nuclear Treaty. Secretary of State Kerry was briefed on the violations almost a year ago

This is a shortened, edited version of Reagan and Gorbachov signing of the INF Treaty. This is a Big Deal!

The Kremlin cheated on a nuclear pact INF it signed with the United States, the U.S. government believes—and Secretary Kerry was briefed on the violations almost a year ago. Congressional leaders are acting to force the Obama administration to confront Russia on its violations of a nuclear treaty that U.S. officials have acknowledged since 2012.

Soviet Dissident Bukovsky on the European Union

For the record: Vladimir Bukovsky was a leading member of the Soviet dissident movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Currently he's a writer, neurophysiologist and a senior fellow at the Cato Institute

Bukovsky spent a total of twelve years in Soviet prisons, labor camps and psikhushkas (psychiatric hospitals).

Vladimir Bukovsky was one of the first to expose the use of psychiatric imprisonment against political prisoners in the Soviet Union. Marxism is in essence a particular world view that isn't born out by facts in the real world. So the Soviets worked at manipulating the people's perception of reality, to the point of faking history and faking (Potemkin) villages. No foreign book or newspaper was allowed into the country for fear of someone figuring it out. Those who complied lived in an amoral world of make-belief, mentally separated for reality. But who refused to go along with this madness was treated as a psychiatric patient and forced-treated in psikhushkas, psychiatric hospitals used as prisons.

The Chickens From Syria Are Coming Home to Roost

The scum of the earth has descended on Syria. These evil Jihadists are Western allies. Some countries are having regrets. How are they going to handle this policy U turn of sleeping with the devil?

The West is now realizing it has made a colossal mistake in supporting the Sunni Jihadists.

In the US criticism is mounting against Obama's inconsistent policies. The news that Western intelligence agencies have been in touch with the Syrian regime is an embarrassment. But what was even more embarrassing, but has hardly been noted, was a report in the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai. It quoted well informed sources close to Assad and reported that Germany, Switzerland, the UK, Italy, Austria and Spain have begun rapprochement talks with the regime in Syria that go further than just security and the re-opening of embassies in Damascus.

Romantic Realism: "West Side Story"

West Side Story was inspired by Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet. The story is set in the Upper West Side neighborhood in New York City in the mid-1950s, an ethnic, blue-collar neighborhood

The story tells the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two street gangs of immigrants from different ethnic backgrounds, Poland and Puerto Rico

West Side Story (1961) is an quintessential American musical with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by the master himself, Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and conception and choreography by Jerome Robbins. The musical (1949) was inspired by William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. It is set in the Upper West Side neighborhood in New York City in the mid-1950s, an ethnic, blue-collar neighborhood. The rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two street gangs of immigrants from different ethnic backgrounds makes the story surprisingly contemporary. The dark theme, sophisticated music, extended dance scenes, and focus on social problems marked a turning point in American musical theatre. The story is set on the interface of the Left and Right view of man. The theme is well explored throughout the film.

"Imagine a Jump" (Lennon and Van Halen Touch in Nihilism)

Lennon's "Imagine" mashed up with a song of Van Halen, meets its philosophical and intellectual equal

"Imagine a Jump".

Mashup artist Mighty Mike mashed-up two rock classics that, on the surface, have nothing in common. John Lennon’s instrumental version of "Imagine" is combined with David Lee Roth’s a cappella vocals from Van Halen’s acoustic recording of "Jump," and the result is a surprisingly seamless fusion of seemingly polar opposites, yet touching each other ultimately in nihilism. It is fittingly titled "Imagine a Jump".

Dutch Pedocracy: Court Orders Prosecution of Former Justice Top Brass

Wall Street Journal: Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) expresses grave concern that the International Court of Justice remains located in The Hague

Questions remain unanswered about pedophilia accusations against former high-ranking Dutch Justice Ministry Official George Demmink

UPDATE:  The Court of Arnhem has ordered the Prosecution to finally investigate George Demmink, the former Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, for the sexual abuse of two minors. A spokesman for the Court told the media yesterday the available material is sufficient to warrant an investigation into the alleged rape of two young Turkish boys. One victim appears to have died some time ago. The two Turkish victims have lodged complaints against Demmink on two occasions. The Prosecution has always doubted their reliability. From earlier probes no criminal acts transpired. But the Court in Arnhem has now finally concluded otherwise. A spokeswoman for the Prosecution Service told the press that she had hoped for "another outcome". (...) (Source, Dutch)

Update: the Secretary of Justice told Parlement today his office will no longer cover Demmink's legal costs. (Source, Dutch)

Meta Data Stored by EU Providers Unreliable

An investigation by the Dutch online news outlet NU.NL has concluded that meta data stored by telecom providers is unrealiable. Lawyers fear intelligence and law enforcement agencies will be misled

Cartoon by Bob Englehart, Hartford Courant (Source)

Telecom providers are obliged to store the delivery data of who is calling/texting/mailing who, but it's very simple to manipulate the address of the sender. There are various commercial services available - for example Spoofcard - that enables calls or text messages from a fake number. This information also ends up in the provider's data storage. Because of the regulation to store this meta data, the false information is also ending up with the intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

Kicking the Left's Ass on Martin Luther King Day

Alfonzo Rachel celebrates Martin Luther King Day with a few painful truths, some of which covered up for decades. To mention some: reverse racism is still racism, and not all rights are equal

Zo doesn't buy the Left's so called reverence for MLK.

Left leaning people are funny. They claim to love Martin Luther King Jr., and try to own his legacy, yet call people 'sell outs' and 'traitors to their race' when people blacks and whites fall in love.  So Zo doesn't believe their so called reverence for MLK. And just as they get angry about people living out his dream, they get angry about the idea of him being a Republican, and insist that he couldn't have possibly been one. Considering the contradictory nature of leftists, Zo doesn't see much reason to believe them on that either.
Another important point: state's rights don't come before individual (natural, human) rights!
Be sure to check out Zo's audio book.

Romantic Realism: Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue

Rhapsody in Blue premiered in an afternoon concert on February 12, 1924, held by Paul Whiteman and his band Palais Royal Orchestra, entitled An Experiment in Modern Music, which took place in Aeolian Hall in New York City

The original jazz band version was for a 24-piece band, not for full orchestra. This was the original arrangement of Gershwin's masterpiece.

Romantic Realism: "An American in Paris"

Like most Broadway Classics "An American in Paris" (1951) feels like Romantic Realism. But the great movie also contains elements of abstract impressionism

Central ballet of An American in Paris, with Gershwin's original score restored when possible*.

An American in Paris is more than a great Broadway Classic. Music by the master Gershwin (score), featuring the great Gene Kelly, the choreography partly inspired by scenes from the French impressionist painters, the sum total of this central piece like many Broadway Classics, has the feel of Romantic Realism.

* What if Gene Kelly had danced to George Gershwin's original score instead of Saul Chaplin's version? Why did Kelly ask for changes? Why did Ira Gershwin allow it? Would George have agreed? Why were 6 minutes cut when over 5 minutes of new music was added? Here is the ballet with Gershwin's original score restored when possible.
