The Democratic National Committee filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit in federal district court in Manhattan against the Russian Govt, the Trump campaign and WikiLeaks alleging a intricate conspiracy to sabotage the Hillary campaign and help Trump by hacking the computer networks of the Democratic Party and disseminating the stolen material (the verity of which no one has disputed) through Wikileaks.
The DNC refused to hand over the hacked server to the FBI. Instead the investigation was turned over to a private company with Google ties, Crowdstrike.
President Donald Trump reacted to the news that the Democrats had decided to sue his presidential campaign for an illegal conspiracy with the Russians to win the 2016 election.
“Just heard the Campaign was sued by the Obstructionist Democrats,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “This can be good news in that we will now counter[sue] for the DNC Server that they refused to give to the FBI.”
Despite the DNC claim that their emails were hacked by the Russians, they never turned over their server to the FBI for investigation. (...) Trump added that he would like to sue for former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s server and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails.
The lawsuit does not name the president, but rather his son Donald Trump Jr. and his son-in-law Jared Kushner. It also names his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Manafort’s deputy, Rick Gates as well as George Papadopoulos and Roger Stone. (More)
