TENSIONS RISING IN US-EU TTIP NEGOTIATIONS

An increasing array of groups are joining a coalition against mega free trade agreements like NAFTA, TPP and TTIP. Trade unions, leftist parties as well as some Republicans, like senator Jeff Sessions and Presidential candidate Donald Trump. As we have seen in the EU, these mega deals are often cover for globalist schemes to destroy national sovereignty.

UPDATE: As the US and EU continue to secretly debate the controversial Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), talks aren’t only taking place behind closed doors. Frustrations are also being aired online, according to emails obtained by Politico. An email sent on Friday and obtained by the website shows the European Commission warning the 28 EU ambassadors in Brussels that there will be no TTIP deal unless Washington changes its approach to negotiations. The document focuses on agriculture, one of the most contentious of the 27 chapters currently under negotiation in TTIP talks. (More)

#EGYPTAIR: HUMAN REMAINS POINT TO EXPLOSION

An EgyptAir passenger jet traveling to Cairo from Paris with 69 people on board disappeared off the radar over the Mediterranean early Thursday. EgyptAir said the plane had been 10 miles inside Egyptian airspace when it disappeared. Human remains and debris has been found off the Greek island of Karpathos.

UPDATE: (...) An Egyptian forensics official said 23 bags of body parts had been collected, the largest no bigger than the palm of a hand. Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official said their size pointed to an explosion, although no trace of explosives had been detected. (...) There are too few messages to fit a typical fire, which would normally trigger a cascade of error reports as multiple systems fail, he said, and too many of them to tie in neatly with a single significant explosion. Investigators will also need to understand why, for example, there was no message indicating the autopilot had cut off, progressively handing control back to the pilots as systems failed and computers became unsure what to do. UPDATE: In an analysis of Monday’s meeting between Pope Francis and Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of the al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo, Vatican expert John L. Allen said that there is no Christian leader in the world today with a more credible claim to the title of a “friend of Islam.” Lining up the Pope’s credentials for such a claim, Allen notes that Francis opposed the idea of Western strikes on the Assad regime in Syria in September 2013, which won him the enduring gratitude of the Grand Mufti of Syria, Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun. On Holy Thursday, Francis washed the feet of Muslim inmates. He has welcomed Islamic leaders to the Vatican, and has become Europe’s “leading voice of compassion for Muslim refugees,” Allen states, including bringing back three Syrian Muslim refugee families after his recent trip to the Greek island of Lesbos. Along with his direct outreach to Muslims, Francis has also visited five places with a majority Muslim population, Allen observes, while paradoxically he has yet to make a single state visit to anywhere in Western Europe, “the traditional cradle of Christendom.” So far, he has visited Jordan, the “State of Palestine,” Turkey, Albania and Sarajevo. UPDATE: (...)The social media campaign against the compulsory hijab she launched two years ago has almost a million followers. “The Government wants to create fear but women have found their own way to freely walk in the streets of Iran or drive without covering their heads. It is a serious cultural war between two lifestyles. For women, their hair is their identity and making it short to just avoid the morality police is really heartbreaking, but in a way, it is brave,” Alinejad said. “The head scarf issue often features prominently in the constant tug of war between hard-liners and Iran’s youth society. Iran’s laws require that all women, from the age of seven when they start school, cover their hair out of a traditional respect for culture and morality. But so far, Iranian women are brave to break this discriminatory law.” Iran recently arrested several women who shared photos of themselves in public with their hair uncovered on Instagram and other social media. Fearing similar repercussions, many women have now made their profiles private. GERMAN COURT BANS ANTI ERDOGAN SATIRE

German comedian Jan Böhmermann faces 3 years in prison for insulting Turkish President Erdogan. The Turks have now broadened their attack on Liberty to the Netherlands by prosecuting a critical columnist. Erdogan is now seeking an injunction against a German media executive.

UPDATE: A court in the German city of Hamburg on Tuesday banned the author of a poem lampooning Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan from publicly reciting passages from his work. The court ruled that only six lines of the 24-line poem by German comedian Jan Boehmermann could be recited, offering the Turkish leader a partial legal victory. The poem accused Erdogan of bestiality and paedophilia and has caused a storm in Germany over freedom of speech. Chancellor Angela Merkel has come in for criticism after she authorised possible criminal proceedings against Boehmermann. Any prosecution of the comedian would be launched under the rarely enforced section 103 of Germany’s criminal code — insulting organs or representatives of foreign states — which carries up to three years in prison

UPDATE: If this report is true it sounds like it could be an enormous change in the Middle East map of violent aggression. From Middle East Eye:

The military wing of the Lebanese movement Hezbollah has been instructed by Iran to suspend operations against Israel and to target Saudi Arabia instead, Middle East Eye can reveal. The instruction comes in the wake of widespread anger at the apparent assassination of Mustafa Badreddine, its military commander in Syria and head of the movement’s military wing, which Hezbollah blamed on “takfiri” forces supported by Riyadh. According to well informed sources in Lebanon, the order was conveyed in person by Qasim Soleimani, the head of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) who came to Beirut to give his condolescences. Clearly, that would be welcome relief to Israel but it signals a ramping up in the war between the two largest sects of Muslims, Sunni and Shiite. (More)

UPDATE: Donald Trump lashed out at Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos Thursday, claiming that the founder of Amazon.com was using the newspaper as a tool to influence corporate tax policy. (...) Trump was responding to Post Associate Editor Bob Woodward's disclosure that the newspaper has assigned 20 reporters to investigate the real estate mogul's life. (...) "He thinks I'll go after him for antitrust," Trump said Thursday. "Because he's got a huge antitrust problem because he's controlling so much, Amazon is controlling so much of what they are doing. "He's using The Washington Post, which is peanuts, he's using that for political purposes to save Amazon in terms of taxes and in terms of antitrust." UPDATE: We have previously outlined the approach the Karl Rove/Lee Atwater GOPe types will use to take down Ted Cruz. –HERE– Democrats would also use a similar approach if they ever had the need. Senator Cruz personifies their ideal opponent. Most of Ted Cruz supporters are severely religious, and/or they are part of the financial enterprises surrounding religion. As a direct consequence both elements are intensely committed to avoid vetting him. This head-in-sand approach presents a serious issue – when they don’t confront the problems they’re set up for catastrophic failure. The approach of “proselytizing as an electoral strategy” will bring money from intensely religious followers – but it can never win a broad based election.
