WAG-THE-BEAR: PUTIN HAS THE WEST OVER A BARREL

On Jan. 27 Biden had a call with Pres. Zelensky of Ukraine from which it transpired that Biden was trying to start a war even without the Ukraine’s consent. On Feb. 21 Putin declared the two Russophone republics in the Donbass region independent. On the morning of Feb. 24 Russia initiated "special operations" against Ukraine.

UPDATE: Contrary to what Greens and other wokesters may wish, economies are still running on fossil fuels. Advocates of green energy keep forgetting (or they chose to ignore the fatal fact) that green energy is unstorable. It's use it or lose it, as every owner of a solar contraption on his roof knows very well.

In their moral indignation about the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Western politicians have been leading their economies into a potential disaster.

Per I Corinthians 13:10, "when I was a child I acted like a child; when I became a man, I put away childish things" does not apply to present Western leadership, including the military that seems to consist of adolescent school girls. Primary, emotive reactions led to punitive sanctions against Russia that now prove more harmful to the sanctioners than to the sanctioned.

The present, decadent leadership may have forgotten that wealth is based on the production of added value that can't be accomplished without access to abundant, cheap fuel, the Russians have not. Of course Russia will use that against the West. Their leaders have manoeuvered themselves in a situation in which the Russians have all the leverage.

It comes down to this. The West needs Russian fuel more than the Russians need dollars and euros. In the future more shortages can be expected. Even now economies have not yet recovered from the Covid lockdowns.

The West in its decline has become a little slow in the uptake. Western leaders are not just incapable of anticipating and planning a strategy, they can't see what is already in front of them:

With Russia’s central bank having just profoundly altered the international trade and monetary system by linking the Russian ruble to both gold and commodities, journalists in Moscow asked me to write a Q and A article on what these developments mean, and the ramifications of these changes on the Russian ruble, the US dollar, the gold price and the global system of currencies. (...)

The Bank of Russia’s move to link the ruble to gold and link commodity payments to the ruble is a paradigm shift that the western media has not really yet been grasped. As the dominos fall, these events could reverberate in different ways. Increased demand for physical gold. Blowups in the paper gold markets. A revalued gold price. A shift away from the US dollar. Increased bilateral trade in commodities among non-Western counties in currencies other than the US dollar. (More on Zerohedge

And then there's the Potemkin performance at Bucha:

WHEN DID HILLARY DECIDE TO WAGE WAR ON RUSSIA?

2019: Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy - Hillary Clinton: Ukraine, Russia and the West.

UPDATEThe West's proxy war with Russia in Ukraine turns out to be a strategic mistake. How bad the decision has been to make Putin into an enemy instead of the ally that he originally was at the start of the Obama presidency in 2009, is a matter of fluidity at this point. But the fall-out so far has been that the Democrats' conniving with Ukraine against Trump, has had the effect of driving Russia into an alliance with China and giving new life to an expanding Eurasian Economic Union.

Could it be that the two Trump impeachments replete with Ukrainian witnesses, the entire Russia Russia Russia hoax and its continuation in
the Mueller Special Counsel were actually designed to prevent President Trump from a rapprochement to Russia?

Remember Hillary's infamous Reset Button with which she presented Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov in 2009What happened between Hillary's skit and the combined US spying agencies entrenching themselves in Ukraine in 2013 in order to oust the democratically elected president of the time, Viktor Yanukovych? A scheme "midwifed by Biden". (If you missed it, scroll down to the entry entitled US ORGANIZERS DEEPLY ROOTED IN UKRAINE for further explanation).

We don't know what happened of course. Or who took the geopolitical decision to pivot to Ukraine and alienate Russia by turning Ukraine into a Western proxy. What we do know is that Hillary' as Secretary of State (Wiki) made a U-turn during her tenure. Could Ukraine being the largest donor to the Clinton Foundation over a period of 15 years have something to do with it? (More)

Update: "Uranium, oil and technology: How Russia got stronger as Bidens and Clintons got richer", an article by Seamus Bruner details how the Obamas, Clintons and the Bidens and their protegees got rich from deals with Russia (More on JustTheNews).

The Russia hoaxes and the impeachments were taken as smears to damage Trump. But what if they were primarily meant to prevent Trump from seeking closer ties to Russia? Think about it: in the midst of that barrage of silly and false allegations about peepee tapes and secret deals (check the Durham Investigation files for details), and charges that the President was too close and too friendly with Putin, Trump could hardly afford to give the impression that his accusers were right. Which is probably the reason why Trump was tougher on Russia than Obama and Biden would ever be.

At the time of the Mueller probe, in June of 2018, Putin commented as follows in a speech at Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Unfortunately, there are forces in the United States that put their narrow group and party interests before national ones,” said Putin. “They are ready to sacrifice even their own security,” noted Putin, adding, “They are ready to sacrifice the interests of their allies in Europe and the Middle East, in particular, those of the State of Israel.” “They are powerful and strong people who can shove…. unbelievable and illogical stories in the face of millions of their citizens,” he added. (Source)

It occurred to Putin as well that all the utter nonsense at the time was against US interests, indeed contrary to US national security! Somewhere between the time of the Reset Button in 2009 and the Color Revolution in 2013, the decision was made that Russia was to be the enemy, not an ally. Instead the US has been taking root in Ukraine's darkest crevIces, poking at the Russian bear at every opportunity.

What stands out as well is the fact the Ukraine may be at war; but that doesn't prevent them from running very sophisticated, slick PR campaigns in the West. Here we see the result of some of these Ukrainian propaganda campaigns that smack of Democrat PR advisors like Anita Dunn's for example. The Dem party is filled to the brim with gaslight type manipulators. Here are a few examples and a video about the unintended consequences.

March 22, 2022 Paul Joseph Watson: What Happened to People Who Volunteered to Fight For Ukraine?

Hillary and the Democrats never thought Trump would win. When he did they scrambled to find a way to prevent him from changing Obama's foreign policy that favored Ukraine over Russia and cover up the machinations. They succeeded, probably exceeded their own expectations. We need to remember in all this that Hillary was the original source of the Russia Russia Russia hoax, well before election night and the Deep Statists ran with it.

And because of that tragic, illegitimate mistake the world is now engaged, not in peace and cooperation with Russia, but is on the verge of making Russia, China, the republics of Eurasia, Iran, India, the Saudis and the Emiratis, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and a number of other neutral leaning countries into geopolitical enemies, risking potentially a Third World War; the petrodollar is on the verge of collapse; the economic depression that was setting in even before the war in Ukraine, is exacerbated by the sanctions against the Russian people, that hurt the West as much as it does Russia.

The history of Europe is tribal. It is, what it is. And it matters. Here's a reminder how complicated the relation is between Russia and Ukraine. The latter started out as the heartland of the Kievan Rus. The Caspian Report explains why Russia wants to restore the Soviet borders.
