UPDATE: In his TV show on Fox News, Mark Levin last night talked to Patrick J. Michaels, the Director of the Center for the Study of Science at the Cato Institute. Michaels is a past president of the American Association of State Climatologists and was program chair for the Committee on Applied Climatology of the American Meteorological Society. He was a research professor of Environmental Sciences at University of Virginia for 30 years. Michaels was a contributing author and is a reviewer of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. His writing has been published in the major scientific journals, including Climate Research, Climatic Change, Geophysical Research Letters, Journal of Climate, Nature, and Science, as well as in popular serials worldwide. He is the author or editor of six books on climate and its impact, and he was an author of the climate “paper of the year” awarded by the Association of American Geographers in 2004. President Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh for a seat on the US Supreme Court. The 53 year old Catholic originalist Judge will tilt the balance of the Court for decades to come on the side of the Constitution as intended. On Sep. 27 the Senate Judiciary Committee held a public hearing with Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who claims the judge sexually assaulted her nearly four decades ago.

They published a number of fake papers in major academic journals. The result is hilarious and delightful. Helen Pluckrose, James Lindsay and Peter Boghossian set out to show that ideology reigns supreme in what they call "Grievance Studies": academic areas organized around victim groups,and often more motivated by a political agenda than a serious search for the truth.

UPDATE: While sexual attacks on women are something every right minded person rejects, the philosophical abandon behind the MeToo movement is potentially devastating. Just how corrosive it is, has become apparent in the Left fighting to stave off the life-time appointment of the Catholic, originalist Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court. Two pillars of Western culture are thereby under a two pronged attack by the MeToos. First, the epistemological underpinning is under fire, that truth is universal and independent of the person speaking it. But in the MeToo universe, truth is associated with gender: women are basically right, while men are principally wrong. Which is ludicrous on its face and another demonstration of the postmodern war on basic axioms. But that is only the preliminary stage of the MeToo assault.

UPDATE: President Donald Trump addresses the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which is due to replace the current North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The U.S., Mexico, and Canada came to a late-hours agreement Sunday to create a trilateral trade deal to replace NAFTA. Senior Trump administration officials briefed reporters late Sunday night on the new deal, just one hour before the deadline set to send a U.S.-Mexico deal to Congress. The USMCA “includes ambitious new market access provisions for our farmers and ranchers,” according to the officials. It also includes provisions to make sure the deal does not get “stale and outdated” Provisions address digital trade, establish groundbreaking intellectual property provisions, and combat currency manipulation. “We think this is a fantastic agreement for the United States but also for Canada and Mexico,” one of the officials stated.
